It’s been 2 months since I started wearing a wrist support.🙁
I was in denial when the Orthopedic asked me to wear it for 2-4weeks so that my inflamed wrist could heal.
In search for a quick fix, I sought an acupuncturist on the same day, hoping that a pill or some needles would magically heal my inflamed tendons. To my surprise, he said the same – wear a wrist support for a month. 💊💉
I had been diligent in wearing it day and night. I even extended the duration from 4 to 8 weeks with the hopes of getting my wrist in its normal state so that I can do my activities again.
Unlike 2 months ago when the slightest movement on my wrist caused so much pain, I was happy to realize last week, that I can now move and even bend my wrist without pain. But that’s it. When I apply pressure on the bended wrist, I feel the pain again.😣
I was devastated and pissed to know this. I was getting impatient ‘baby-ing’ my wrist and convincing myself that it will only take just a little while for it to get better. Apparently, not; It needs more time that I expected.⏳
This morning, I realized that there are 2 ways I can look at this 👀
1. Dwell on things I cannot do for the mean time and end up being disappointed and pissed
2. Accept the fact that it will take more time for my wrist to heal, which means I cannot do certain activities. Then, focus my energy on doing the things I CAN DO and ENJOY DOING them.
